The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers have plenty of things in common.

On the one hand, they were never an actual threat to come out of the Western Conference this season.

On the other, they have aging future Hall of Famers that could still be centerpieces on a championship-caliber team.

And now that the Warriors are among the teams with the highest odds of having LeBron James in 2023, Colin Cowherd suggested a shocking blockbuster trade that could make sense for both teams.

Per Cowherd, the Warriors could — and should — trade Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, and Andrew Wiggins to the Lakers in exchange for LeBron James.

That might sound far-fetched, but Cowherd claims the Warriors have already punted their future away by trading James Wiseman, adding that they don’t care about the young players and only want to win now, which is why Jonathan Kuminga didn’t even play in the postseason.

Cowherd cited that the Warriors want high-IQ guys and that LeBron is most definitely one of those, adding that he’s stated his desire to play with Stephen Curry, and that playing for the Warriors would allow him to let Draymond Green play defense on the wing and Kevon Looney do his thing on the boards.

From the Lakers standpoint, this trade would give Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss the control back, something they don’t have with LeBron in town.

On top of that, they’d be better suited for the future, all while building a much deeper team to compete right now.
