On Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers linked up with the Atlanta Braves for a three-game series at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Los Angeles won the first tilt by a final score of 8-6.

However, the win didn’t come easy for the Dodgers after they had lost three out of four in St. Louis, and things got heated between the Dodgers and Braves during the game.

Multiple times when slugger Marcell Ozuna was at the plate for the Braves, his backswing hit Dodgers catcher Will Smith in the helmet.

Smith had dealt with a concussion earlier this season and ultimately had words with Ozuna about the situation.

After the game, Smith expressed his frustration with Ozuna continually hitting him in the head with his backswing.

Smith said that Ozuna’s bat hit him in head pretty hard a couple of times and pointed out that this is not the first time something like this has happened to him with Ozuna at the plate.

He also referenced other catchers who have had to deal with the same thing while Ozuna was batting.

Smith said he felt like he needed to say something to him after it happened a few times.

The Dodgers catcher acknowledged that Ozuna likely isn’t doing it intentionally, but also stated that Ozuna should have fixed it by now.

Smith then talked about his recent concussion and cited it as the reason why he was so frustrated with Ozuna for continually hitting him with his backswing, and expressed hope that there would be no lingering effects.
