On Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers experienced a special moment when star first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam for his 300th career home run at Busch Stadium against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The grand slam brought the Dodgers back to within two runs of the Cardinals in the top of the sixth inning.
Though it wasn’t enough to save the team from a tough loss, the Dodgers didn’t let it sour the moment.
After the game, the team held a toast in the visitors’ clubhouse in St. Louis to honor their star first baseman for his historic accomplishment.
The Dodgers posted a photo of the celebration on Twitter, while also congratulating their star first baseman on achieving such an impressive feat.

Freeman certainly has a lot to celebrate after Thursday’s homer.
After breaking into the big leagues in 2010, Freeman earned six All-Star nods, an MVP, three Silver Slugger Awards, and a Gold Glove.
He spent the first 12 seasons of his career with the Atlanta Braves before joining the Dodgers.
But on Thursday, he got to celebrate a special accomplishment with his Dodgers teammates in the clubhouse at Busch Stadium.
The Cardinals won the game by a final score of 16-8, but it didn’t take away from Freeman’s special achievement.
Freeman shared a nice toast with his Dodgers teammates after the game, which included veteran outfielder Jason Heyward, who was a teammate of Freeman’s during his time in Atlanta.
There will certainly be more home runs hit by Freeman as time goes on, but Thursday night’s grand slam was a special moment.
