The Philadelphia Eagles made a huge investment to make Jalen Hurts their quarterback for the future.

He made great strides and is coming off an MVP-caliber season, which is why GM Howie Roseman didn’t bat an eye to give him such a massive payday.

Moreover, he has proven to be a great leader and a guy his teammates could rely upon us.

That, per OT Jordan Mailata, makes him worthy of every single penny he’s about to have coming his way.

Mailata raved about Hurts’ leadership skills and how he’s able to make plays with his feet and grind his way to the end zone.

The Eagles had one of the most dominant offensive lines in the game last season, giving him plenty of time to operate in the pocket and find the open guy.

But Hurts also helped his team over and over by extending plays and wreaking havoc out of the backfield with his crafty moves and lateral quickness.

There were some doubts about Hurts’ ability to dominate in the pros, and some didn’t even consider him a sure thing to be QB1 after a somewhat inconsistent season in 2021.

He responded by becoming the league’s most improved player in 2022, and that relentless work ethic is what made the organization feel confident about his hunger and determination to be better, even after signing a generational kind of deal.

Still, he’ll now be in the spotlight more than ever, and Eagles fans won’t want another case of a Carson Wentz kind of contract on their hands.
