The Phoenix Suns still have a long road ahead of them to win an NBA championship, but Chris Paul may have won his personal title already.

Tuesday’s night win over the Los Angeles Clippers put an end to one of the most bizarre streaks in the history of the league.

Prior to Game 2, Chris Paul had lost 13 straight playoff games officiated by Scott Foster.

Needless to say, that had become a talking point among the fans and media members, so multiple people took to Twitter to discuss the matter.

The streak included some notable and crucial season-deciding games, and no one could fully understand what was going on.

Of course, several fans claimed that Foster had something against Paul and rigged the games against him.

And while that might seem like the obvious and logical conclusion — I mean, he did lose 13 straight games, some of those in incredible fashion — that’s a very serious accusation we’re not going to make.

There was a scandal of point-shaving and game-fixing with banned referee Tim Donaghy, but even an FBI investigation determined that he was a single rogue agent and not a league-wide trend.

Chances are that this was just a coincidence, albeit a very unfortunate one.

What matters now is that the series is even at one win apiece, and the Suns will now hit the road to try and get homecourt advantage back after their setback in Game 1.

Whatever the case, though, Paul might be relieved to know that someone else will be blowing the whistle on that game.
