The Memphis Grizzlies want everybody to know that they’re not scared.

Dillon Brooks has been their spokesperson for the better part of the past couple of seasons, firing some bold takes, some of which he comes to regret, eventually.

But the Canadian forward won’t stop talking his talk, regardless of who he’s alluding to or how everybody else in the league will take it.

He did just that again last night following his team’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2, as he claimed that he doesn’t care if he pokes ‘old’ LeBron James and that he doesn’t respect any player until he puts up 40 points on him.

Needless to say, the fans didn’t take those comments lightly, and they shared their thoughts about them on Twitter.

Brooks is embracing the villain persona more and more every day; that’s his thing now.

Some NBA veterans have made it clear that they don’t like these young Grizzlies, citing that they talk too much for a team that has accomplished nothing.

Brooks, in particular, is a solid defender and a high-energy guy, no one can deny that, but he’s often mocked for talking like a superstar and the best player on his team, which he isn’t.

James has averaged nearly 26 points per game in 11 matchups vs. Brooks, one fewer point than his career average.

But as much as he claims that he doesn’t hear all the outside noise, you better believe The King is taking notes and will give Brooks plenty of reasons to respect him sooner rather than later.

You poked the bear, Dillon!
