The Jacksonville Jaguars‘ offense will be joined by Calvin Ridley in 2023, adding to Trevor Lawrence’s receiving room.

Ridley hasn’t seen the field since 2021, as he was suspended for gambling for the entirety of 2022.

While Jaguars fans wait to see how Ridley will fare this season, OC Press Taylor has given an update after the start to OTA’s.

“He’s done a great job, just intermixing with the group and making his own role,” said Taylor.

Taylor also said, “We’re very confident in the player we’re getting.”

For a few seasons, Ridley was highly regarded as one of the best receivers in the NFL.

He had a breakout year in 2020, totaling 1,374 yards, 90 receptions, and nine touchdowns.

Ridley played in just five games during the 2021 season, before leaving the game due to injuries and mental health concerns.

Despite not playing in the NFL for over one year, the Jaguars remain confident that Ridley will be a great addition to their wide receiving room.

Ridley should slot in beside Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, giving a better opportunity for Lawrence to succeed in his third season.

The Jaguars won their division last season and even won a playoff game in Lawrence’s first postseason appearance.

If Ridley is even a shell of himself from his 2020 campaign, the Jaguars should be in great shape.

The AFC South will likely have three new starting quarterbacks, assuming Will Levis takes over for the Tennessee Titans.

This is great news for Ridley and the Jaguars.

Even if they have initial growing pains, the youth of their division could result in an easy path to the playoffs.
