The Chicago White Sox are off to a bit of a tough start this season.

Despite their 3-0 win over the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night, the team is still 7-11 to start the season.

But not every aspect of the White Sox’s start has been forgettable.

In fact, Jake Burger is off to a decent start this season.

The slugger has already hit five home runs to start the season, owns an OPS of 1.329, has driven in 10 runs, and is hitting for a .308 average.

Burger homered on Tuesday and joined an elite list of sluggers who have the hardest-hit batted-balls all season.

On that list are Matt Olson of the Atlanta Braves and Giancarlo Stanton of the New York Yankees.

Burger is second on the list.

His home run on Tuesday had an exit velocity of 118.2 mph.

Stanton’s hit came on April 2, while Olson’s came on April 11.

Needless to say, Burger is off to a pretty good start this season and is hitting the ball quite hard.

Burger, a native of St. Louis, was drafted by the White Sox in the first round in 2017.

He attended Missouri State University.

Burger made his MLB debut on July 2, 2021.

The slugger hit eight home runs last season and hit for a .250 average in 51 games played.

Burger has given the White Sox an early-season spark in 2023 and has been hitting quite well.

Now, he is a part of an elite list of sluggers who have hit some balls pretty hard.
