The Denver Nuggets made another statement by storming back to beat the Los Angeles Lakers and take a 2-0 series lead.

Then again, most of the talk has been about how the Lakers let the lead slip and not about how good the Nuggets were to get the win.

That’s why Nuggets star Jamal Murray wanted to put the word out there that the lack of attention and all the media narratives are only going to add more fuel to their competitive fire.

Murray and the Nuggets feel disrespected and overlooked, and rightfully so.

It feels like people didn’t realize how great Nikola Jokic is until he started doing his thing against the Lakers.

Of course, big-market teams will always get most of the attention, but it’s hard to sleep on a Nuggets team that dominated their way to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and the Western Conference Finals.

The Nuggets have been nothing short of stellar on both ends of the floor throughout the season, and this series hasn’t been the exception to that rule.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham made some solid adjustments ahead of Game 2, but Mike Malone seemed to find a counter every single time.

Now, they’ll travel to hostile territory with a big chip on their shoulders, and they’ll look to close out one of the most popular sports franchises on Earth in front of their many fans.
