Joey Gallo never quite got things going during his time with the New York Yankees.

He spent parts of two seasons in the Bronx and hit just .159 during his Yankees stint.

Gallo is a player that has struggled thanks in large part to the exaggerated defensive shift.

But with the shift gone, Gallo is having some better luck.

Gallo is now a member of the Minnesota Twins, who squared off with the Yankees at Target Field on Monday.

In the bottom of the fourth, Gallo hit a no-doubt home run against his former club to help give the Twins a 4-0 lead.

The home run was Gallo’s sixth of the season.

The two-time All-Star is now hitting .243 in 37 at-bats with the Twins and has posted an impressive OPS of 1.120.

He is also slugging .757 and getting on base at a .364 clip.

And as fate would have it, he got a chance to show off his power and come through in the clutch against his former team in the Yankees.

It’s no secret that Gallo struggled during his time in the Bronx.

However, the slugger appears to have found his groove again in his first season with the Twins.

And the ball he hit on Monday off of Yankees starter Greg Weissert was a no-doubt home run, as it traveled into the second deck at Target Field.

The Twins defeated the Bronx Bombers by a final score of 6-1 and improved to 13-10 on the season, extending their lead in the American League Central to two games over the defending champion Cleveland Guardians.
