The Boston Celtics were much better, united, and focused in Game 4.

They managed to keep their season alive by playing elite defense and efficient offense, and the challenge will be to keep that same intensity up in Game 5.

If that’s the case, then Kendrick Perkins believes they should give a longer leash to Grant Williams, making a case for him to be on the floor as early and often as possible.

Following the win, Perkins cited that Williams should get close to 40 minutes in the next game, citing that people seem to forget how much of a difference-maker he was in last year’s NBA Finals run.

Perkins lauded Williams for being a high-IQ basketball player who won’t take any bad shots and who knows the ins and outs of the game perfectly.

He also said that Williams gives them a competitive edge and a ton of energy on those 50/50 balls and hustle plays, praising him for staying locked in on the defensive end of the floor.

Ironically, Williams starred in some hilarious clips and memes earlier in the series after taunting Jimmy Butler before his team crumbled late in the game, but Perkins has a valid point.

The former NBA champion cites that as good as Malcolm Brodgon has been for the Celtics this season, Williams still needs to be the first guy off the bench for the remainder of the series, especially given how much the reigning Sixth Man of the Year has struggled as of late.
