The Seattle Mariners have some of the most loyal fans in MLB.

There they are, year after year, going to games and following the team for better or for worse.

Despite what their current 11-14 record might suggest, they are very much one of the American League’s emerging powerhouses.

As a way to keep fans engaged, they are presenting new uniforms and they did it with an amazing hype video.

“The past presents the future”, is the title and the theme of the video.

In the clip, we see some of the best players (and moments) in franchise history: from “Hutch” (Fred Hutchinson, known as the man who saved baseball in Seattle a few decades ago), Ken Griffey Jr., Ichiro Suzuki, Edgar Martinez’s glorious postseason double, Felix Hernandez’s perfect game in 2012, to other legends and key moments in history.

They gave way to some of the current stars on the Mariners: Cal Raleigh, Eugenio Suarez, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, and of course Julio Rodriguez all appeared in the video wearing the cool new uniform that has the same blue as in the past, with cool yellow letters.

Fans reacted positively to the new uniforms, and were hyped with the footage.

It helps younger generations understand where the franchise comes from and who are some of their most prominent players of the past.

Hence the slogan, “the past presents the future”: it’s a wordplay, a cool one at that.

It has been amazing to witness how a whole city is behind the Mariners as they evolved from perennial pretenders to bonafide candidates in the last couple of seasons.

Hopefully, the new uniforms can keep some of the excitement going.
