The New York Mets have not had a good start to the season.

They are in third place in the NL East with a record of 22-23.

But they are looking to make a change to their lineup.

According to Anthony DiComo, the Mets are calling up catcher Gary Sanchez.

The idea is for him to play most days at catcher.

Calling up Sanchez may be a surprise to many, but the Mets have not the production they hoped for from Francisco Alvarez.

In 78 at-bats this year, Alvarez is hitting .218 with four home runs and nine RBI.

The 21-year-old is still trying to get adjusted to the Major League game.

But, he was the top prospect in baseball for a reason, so Alvarez is still the Mets’ future behind the plate.

Sanchez now heads to New York and hopes to revive his career.

He spent most of his career across town with the Yankees.

But, after a few lackluster seasons, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins.

Now it is the Mets’ turn to see if they can fix the former All-Star.

The Mets have had a disappointing season in the power department.

Other than Pete Alonso, they are not getting consistent power from anyone.

Sanchez has plenty of flaws as a player but he has always been a solid source of power.

It will be interesting to see if Sanchez can give the Mets lineup a little more juice as they try to resurrect their season.
