The Cleveland Guardians need some run production.

So far this season they are one of the worst offenses in baseball.

That is unlike the team we saw last year that won the AL Central and their first playoff series.

But, a few of the offseason moves the Guardians have made are not working out.

One of the moves that has been a disaster is the signing of catcher Mike Zunino.

The Guardians were hoping that Zunino could bring some much-needed pop to their lineup.

Instead, he has been borderline unplayable this year.

Thankfully, Zunino showed up for the Guardians in their win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday.

The catcher hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Guardians a 3-0 lead.

Bally Sports Cleveland posted a video of the homer sneaking over the right-field wall.

On the season, Zunino is hitting .178 with three home runs and nine RBI.

Also, in the 31 games he has played, he has struck out 46 times and walked only 12.

Zunino signed a one-year, $6 million contract before the season.

It is safe to say the Guardians will not be looking to give him another deal with how poorly he has played.

But, the team still hopes he can turn it around.

There is still plenty of time left in the season and Zunino seems likely to remain one of the primary catchers in Cleveland.

While he has never hit for a high average in his career, at least Zunino has plenty of home run power.

Hopefully, his huge home run on Monday will help spark him for the rest of the year.
