MLB remains one of the most entertaining shows in the country.

Additionally, with the quicker pace of games and the shorter times that resulted from the rule changes implemented this year, fans find the experience more palatable.

True, hardcore baseball fans already loved watching games regardless of the time it took, but shorter games have definitely attracted more viewers in front of the TV and more people to the stadiums.

The numbers don’t lie.

“This weekend’s attendance of 1,518,016 was the best weekend attendance across @MLB in April or May in more than six years,” the league’s communications department tweeted.

It’s the best attendance for a weekend of play in one of the first two months of the season since 2017.

That’s incredibly significant, amid comments by some circles that baseball has fallen behind other major sports in popularity and after undergoing so much stuff in the last couple of years.

Baseball had to deal with a shortened season because of the pandemic, and then a lockout just two years after that.

The sport has recovered nicely, though, and it’s in a really good spot.

It has incredibly exciting young stars like Ronald Acuna Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Shohei Ohtani, and Spencer Strider, it has nice stadiums, and most teams are competitive or try to be.

It’s fair to say that fans of most squads have a reason to go to the stadium, and they have been doing just that.

The more people that go to watch games, the more growth the league as a whole will report.
