The job of an NBA head coach is not an easy one.
They get all the blame when things go wrong and none of the praise when things go right.
Also, NBA coaches will always be judged on how they perform in the playoffs.
If you cannot coach a team to at least the conference finals, your job will not be safe.
That was the case with Doc Rivers, who has been fired by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Rivers had a 154-82 record in his three seasons with the 76ers.
It is hard to argue with his regular-season wins.
But, he could not get the 76ers any further than the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Now the Sixers will look for a coach that can get them over the hump.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers will be interested in names such as Mike Budenholzer, Nick Nurse, and Monty Williams.
The Sixers’ search for a new coach is expected to include Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel and Monty Williams, sources tell ESPN.

It will be interesting to see where the Sixers go for their next head coach.
They hired Rivers because he was a championship head coach.
But that did not transpire in Philadelphia.
Budenholzer, Nurse, and Vogel have all won championships within the last five seasons.
It will be interesting to see if the Sixers go with one of those coaches.
Or they could lean to go with a guy that has no head coaching experience before in Sam Cassell.
Either way, this offseason for the 76ers is a massive one, and they need to find the right coach.
