Much of the buzz about the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft has centered around a talented crop of quarterbacks that is headlined by Bryce Young of Alabama and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.

But there are a few outstanding prospects who play other positions.

One of them is Bijan Robinson, the talented running back from Texas.

NFL analyst Adam Schein feels he deserves to be one of the first 10 players chosen in next week’s draft.

Robinson, who stands six-feet tall and weighs 215 pounds, had a very productive three seasons with the Longhorns, and in 2022 he collected 1,580 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 314 yards and two touchdowns in the air.

He was a consensus All-American in 2022 and won the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the top running back in the NCAA.

Schein compared him to Edgerrin James, a Hall of Fame running back who played 11 seasons in the late 1990s and 2000s, mostly with the Indianapolis Colts, and led the NFL in rushing yards in his first two pro seasons.

There are a number of teams with a high draft pick that could use a star running back or at least an upgrade at that position, and Schein wondered if a team may even trade up for the opportunity to take Robinson.

However, in the modern era of the NFL, running backs aren’t valued as much as they were 20 years ago, and therefore there is the chance he slips a few spots only for that reason.
