Every year, there are a number of college football prospects who do not end up being taken in the NFL Draft.
They have always had to wait around and hope a team signs them as an undrafted free agent, and there are a number of players who have gone on to have success after entering the league that way.
But now they will have another opportunity to play pro football and hone their skills.
The XFL will hold a rookie draft next month for undrafted prospects from this year’s NFL Draft.
The XFL announced that the will have their Rookie Draft on June 16th. The draft is for all undrafted players from the 2023 NFL Draft who are still unsigned.
XFL team rosters will be expanded from 51 to 90 during the offseason to make room.

After rebooting in 2020, the XFL was forced to suspend operations midway through its first season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has returned this season and is starting to have some success.
There are a number of former NFL players in the league, but now NFL hopefuls will be able to take the field for the burgeoning league.
Unlike Major League Baseball, which has long had a well-developed farm system, and the NBA, which has the G League, the NFL doesn’t have any type of developmental league or system.
But perhaps the XFL, with its looser rules and attitude, could serve as something of a substitute for one.
The league began play this season in February, and just days ago, it crowned the Arlington Renegades as its champions.
June’s draft will allow a large group of players to enter the league for the 2024 season and hope that some NFL teams will be watching them do their thing in the meantime.
