With the NFL Draft right around the corner, the rumor mill has run rampant across the league.

Many fans and analysts have bought into many storylines throughout the offseason.

Soon, we will find out what was and was not true as the draft unfolds.

A recent rumor has surrounded the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, speculating that they would select a first-round quarterback.

However, Albert Breer has recently dispelled that rumor, saying “I think the staff there is excited to see what they can do with Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask.”

While many wonder and speculate about what quarterback the Buccaneers should draft, Breer’s comments indicate otherwise.

Breer points to the 2023 season as a “big reset year” for the Buccaneers, “with the team needing to get younger in a few key areas.”

After Tom Brady announced his retirement from the team, the Buccaneers signed Mayfield, pairing him with Trask.

For a while, Trask was the only quarterback on the roster, while the team came to their decision.

Mayfield is now on his fourth team in five years and will look to impact the Buccaneers in a big way, assuming that he is the starter.

He has what Trask does not, which is tangible NFL experience.

The NFC South is back up for grabs, considering how many new quarterbacks are now in the division.

Do the Buccaneers truly feel that either Trask or Mayfield is the gateway for another division title?

Breer appears to think so, despite the recent noise that indicates otherwise.
