Nick Wright Says 1 NBA Player Is Facing ‘Fork In The Road Moment’ In Career

The Los Angeles Lakers counted on Anthony Davis to help LeBron James carry the load, but that just wasn’t the case — again.

Outside of that run in the bubble, Davis hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations in Los Angeles.

On the contrary, his lack of offensive production, inconsistency, and injuries have hurt the team when it has mattered the most.

That’s why Nick Wright believes he’s officially facing a “fork in the road” moment in his career.

He claims that no one seems to know what Davis wants and that he’s not likely to get better at this point in his career because he just doesn’t want to.

Wright cites that Davis is already a future Hall of Famer, but he could and should look around the league and realize that he’s the only American player that could be a perennial MVP candidate right now.

Davis has some room for improvement offensively, cites Wright, but it feels like he’s not all that locked in.

His defense has always been stellar, and he was solid on that end of the floor for the most part of the playoffs, except for that series vs. the Denver Nuggets.

Davis’ impact and talents have never been put into question, but that passion and competitive drive may not be there, at least not anymore.

One cannot blame a player for getting hurt often; no one wants to get injured.

But Davis has shown the ability to dominate even the greatest defenders on the planet when he’s at his best, so there’s no reason to think he couldn’t do that every single night.
