The Denver Nuggets are just one win away from reaching the NBA Finals.

After dominating throughout the entirety of the playoffs, the Nuggets are up 3-0 over the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Considering no team has ever come back from that sort of deficit, it seems very likely that the Nuggets will go all the way to the championship.

Yet, some on the team still believe they don’t receive the respect they deserve.

According to NBA writer Ohm Youngmisuk, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope told the press, “We’re the underdogs. We don’t get credit. We take it personal.”

One might wonder what Caldwell-Pope is talking about: how can the best team in the West be underdogs who don’t get credit?

But there is truth to what he is saying.

All season long, people have questioned if the Nuggets really had what it took to make the Finals.

They were the best team in their conference for months but numerous analysts, writers, and fans called them a weak number-one seed.

There were even some who speculated that they could be pushed out in the opening or second round.

They have a lack of success in the postseason and that’s the main reason why some thought they’d fall apart after the regular season concluded.

Instead, the Nuggets have only gotten better in the playoffs.

Even if they don’t win in the Finals, the Nuggets have proven that they are more than a team that can only perform well in the regular season.

They have finally transformed into an all-around great squad that can compete all year long.

There is no doubt that they’ll be getting much more respect in the future.
