The Kansas City Chiefs will once again be the team to beat in the NFL next season.

The reigning Super Bowl champions lost one key element to their offense with Eric Bienienemy leaving to the Washington Commanders, but they’ll still have arguably the best quarterback in the game calling the shots.

But as great as he is, Mahomes is still a work in progress, and there’s always something one could be better at.

So, when asked about his biggest offseason tweaks, Mahomes told James Palmer that he’s putting some emphasis on the deep ball, as he feels like he missed some deep throws last season.

He also talked about getting out of funks quicker instead of trying to force things when things aren’t going his way.

A couple of years ago, Mahomes claimed that he hadn’t fully understood how to read defenses and coverages in real-time and that he was working on that.

Mahomes has become a comeback specialist, and it seems like you can never rule this team out of a game, regardless of how big of a deficit they’re facing.

So, imagine an improved Patrick Mahomes and what he could do, especially if the Chiefs don’t get off to those slow starts they usually get into.

The Chiefs will continue to be a driving force in this league for as long as they have him behind center, and this relentless work ethic and determination to be better is why they were fully confident in giving him a 10-year contract extension.
