The four top quarterback prospects in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft are getting a lot of buzz as draft day on April 27 draws closer and closer.
Although there’s no clear consensus on which quarterback will go first or what the order will be in the first round regarding quarterbacks selected, there are a lot of interesting storylines about each player, especially Anthony Richardson out of the University of Florida.
It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Richardson is the fourth quarterback taken in the draft or potentially sees his draft stock plummet before draft day, but this latest assessment of the former Gators star is interesting, to say the least.
Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus made a bold claim this week by saying that Richardson is arguably the greatest athlete at the quarterback position that we’ve ever seen enter the NFL Draft.

With Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson arguably being neck-and-neck for the distinction as the greatest athlete at the quarterback position, Monson’s claim is incredibly bold but also intriguing.
In today’s NFL, a mobile quarterback can be very successful, especially with all the rules leaning in favor of the quarterback position.
Jackson is the best example of this in the modern era, and he has an NFL MVP award to his credit to prove it.
However, if Richardson is even close to the athlete that Jackson is, he’ll definitely get some attention from teams in the first round and potentially threaten to be taken ahead of Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Levis.
