The Philadelphia Phillies have to be pleasantly surprised with how quickly former MVP Bryce Harper has healed.
After undergoing Tommy John surgery in the offseason, he has already returned to the Phillies lineup as DH.
It was first expected that Harper would be back sometime around the All-Star break.
Well, he smashed that timeline and he is certainly a welcome sight to their lineup.
Harper made his season debut on May 2 in Los Angeles.
But, Friday night will be his home debut for the 2023 season.

Harper will be batting third in his home debut, as the Phillies are set to face the Boston Red Sox.
Last year during the postseason, Harper and the team went on a memorable run to the World Series.
Harper hit .349 with six home runs and 13 runs batted in during the run, including one of the most memorable swings in Phillies history.
In Game 5 of the NLCS, Harper hit a two-run home run off Robert Suarez which gave the Phillies the lead in the bottom of the eighth.
That hit turned into the game-winner for the Phillies.
Harper has been well worth the monster contract he signed back in 2019.
Now that he is healthy again, the Phillies hope Harper can lead them on another deep run in the playoffs.
It might take some time before Harper can play the field.
But, as long as his bat is in the lineup, the Phillies have a great chance to win.
