Baseball is a game of competition and intensity.

However, it’s a game that has the power to bring people together from all walks of life.

Players on the same team share a special bond as well.

For Freddie Freeman and Jason Heyward, the bond stretches all the way back to 2010, when they were both rookies with the Atlanta Braves.

The two were teammates in Atlanta until Heyward was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014.

Fast forward to 2023, and the two are teammates yet again with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On Thursday, Freeman hit his 300th career home run, and upon returning to the dugout, he received a warm embrace from Heyward.

On Twitter, MLB Cut4 posted a few photos which show the evolution of this longtime MLB friendship.

Heyward and Freeman have certainly been through a lot together.

The two came up to the Major Leagues in the same season and helped guide the Braves to four consecutive winning seasons, including two postseason berths.

After Heyward left the Braves, Freeman remained and was on hand for Atlanta’s 2021 World Series title.

Heyward won a ring with the Chicago Cubs in 2016.

But lo and behold, almost 10 years later, the two are reunited and they still share a special bond.

So it was only fitting that Heyward was there to greet Freeman in the dugout after he hit his historic home run.
