During the process of evaluating incoming NFL-caliber talent, all 32 teams in the league watch workouts and put players through specific tests to see what they may be getting with a prospect they have in consideration to select on draft day.
Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, the process is underway, with quarterback Bryce Young out of the University of Alabama, making a huge impression by putting up a significant number on the S2 cognitive test.
Top-tier quarterback prospects are analyzed constantly heading toward draft day, with teams doing as much homework as they can on players like Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis.
Right now, Young seems to be working his way into the top spot among these quarterback prospects, especially after scoring 98 on the S2 cognitive test, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
Since I’ve been asked, Alabama QB Bryce Young scored a 98 on the S2 cognitive test, per sources. That’s a HUGE number—and one his teammate, Tide TE Cameron Latu, matched.
I mentioned Burrow, Fields and Allen (all in the 90s) as high scorers. Young’s score edged out all of them.

With results that are in the same vicinity as of superstars Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills leader under center Josh Allen, Young likely will see his draft stock rise considerably, as obviously, it’s a good indication of what a team might get in the rookie quarterback.
The question now will be whether the Carolina Panthers are convinced that Young is the right man for the job to be the team’s new face of the franchise.
All signs seem to be leaning toward Young being the first quarterback off the board on April 27, as we’ve seen in the past, things can frequently change in the weeks leading up to draft day.
