The Los Angeles Rams did not have many draft picks to use in the 2023 NFL Draft.

But one pick they made on day three was a massive surprise.

That was selecting Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett in the fourth round.

Bennett was seen as a sixth or seventh-round pick by many, and there was even a sense that he could go undrafted.

Instead, the Rams took a shot on the two-time national champion before anyone else was willing to.

Now it appears as if Bennett will step into the QB2 role in Los Angeles.

The Rams showed off Bennett in his new threads on their Twitter page.

The development of Bennett this offseason will be crucial.

He does not have all the tools that you want from a franchise quarterback but he does have a history of winning.

The Rams do not have an established backup behind Matthew Stafford.

This means Bennett could be the main backup this year.

Also, Stafford has a history of getting injured.

Last season he only played in nine games and suffered a scary neck injury that ended his year.

The Rams need to start thinking about the future as Stafford may not play much longer.

Bennett does not seem like the type of prospect that will turn into a star.

But, he could certainly be a solid backup and someone that can consistently step in and win games.

The Rams took a chance on one of the winningest college quarterbacks in recent memory.

Now we get to see if it works out for them.
