The Carolina Panthers have finally found their next franchise superstar.

They selected quarterback Bryce Young first overall with the hopes that he can lead them to the promised land.

Young was the consensus top quarterback in this class.

The only knock against him was that he is too small.

He stands a little over 5-foot-10 and weighs 204 pounds.

At least those were his measurables at the NFL Combine.

Being that small could lead to Young getting injured easily in the NFL.

Having to withstand getting hit for 17 games and the playoffs could be difficult for Young.

NFL on CBS released a photo of Young standing next to teammate Brian Burns.

You can see Young is substantially smaller than the 6-foot-5 Burns.

Young being so small could lead to passes getting batted down at the line of scrimmage.

Taller defenders can stick their arms up and knock down short passes all game.

But, height has not seemed to affect players like Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, and Kyler Murray.

They are all small in stature yet still played quarterback at a high level.

It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Young can have in year one.

He will be playing in the worst division in football, and that should help him build confidence.

It is not out of the question to think the Panthers can make a run at the playoffs if Young plays well.

All eyes will be on the first overall pick next season, as everyone wants to see what he can do on an NFL field.
