With the NBA Draft lottery just hours away, most of the league is already on Victor Wembanyama’s watch.

The French big man is highly touted as the most well-round prospect in NBA Draft history, even ahead of LeBron James.

Experts are so high on him right now that an unnamed front office member told NBA insider Sean Highkin that every single team in the league would take him No. 1, even if he suffered a multi-season injury like Joel Embiid, and they would max him out in his second contract despite not watching him play.

That’s a lot of praise, especially considering that projected No. 2 pick, Scoot Henderson, also has the makings of a generational player at the point guard position.

Wembanyama has turned heads left and right for years now.

He has an unprecedented combination of size, length, handles, shooting, and shot-blocking.

Also, he has already showcased his skills in the U.S. by dominating the G-League ignite in a couple of exhibition games, and the league actually started broadcasting his games on the League Pass app.

Obviously, there will always be some concerns about durability, health, and ability to withstand the physicality of stronger players in the paint, but Wembanyama has no history of injuries in his brief career.

He’s the ultimate unicorn and something this league has never seen, and he’s yet to scratch the surface of his potential.

NBA fans will hope it doesn’t come down to that, but the fact that everyone would take him even if he’s hurt speaks volumes of his sky-high ceiling.
