This season, several teams across Major League Baseball have revealed some exciting new uniforms.

These uniforms are the Nike City Connect threads that teams will wear on occasion, which typically ties together the heritage of the city they play in and the history of their franchise.

The Cincinnati Reds finally got a chance to don their new City Connect threads on Friday night as they opened up a three-game weekend series against the New York Yankees.

The uniforms are black in color with red markings and a red logo on the helmets and hats.

On Twitter, MLB posted a photo collage featuring some of the Reds stars in their new City Connect uniforms.

These uniforms are certainly interesting and look quite nice.

The Reds were one of several teams to announce that they were going to be adding a City Connect alternate jersey.

The Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, and Baltimore Orioles have all announced that they will be adding City Connect uniforms and debuting them at various points this season.

On Friday night, it was the Reds turn to show off their new threads, and so far, they appear to be a hit among fans and those around Major League Baseball.

The uniforms provide a little bit of a throwback to the past, while also combining old elements of past jerseys with some new designs that make the uniforms truly unique.

The Reds lost by a final score of 6-2 as they debuted their new uniforms, but the uniforms were certainly a hit.
