Coming into the NBA playoffs, the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies were the clear favorites to beat the Los Angeles Lakers to advance to the second round of the postseason.
After four games between these two Western Conference teams, the Lakers are sporting a 3-1 lead, with the series now shifting back to Memphis for a potential series-clinching Game 5 for Los Angeles.
Following the two recent losses by the Grizzlies, outspoken and controversial forward Dillon Brooks refused to talk to the media after making some bold comments about superstar LeBron James after Memphis won Game 2.
Now superstar Ja Morant has followed in Brooks’ footsteps, as he decided not to talk to the media after Game 4, which has rubbed some people the wrong way for obvious reasons.
ESPN’s Richard Jefferson didn’t hold back in criticizing both players for not talking to the media.
“You can’t talk the talk and then not walk the walk. … If you’re not going to talk to the media after two straight games, that to me is cowardice. And I don’t believe either of them are cowards.”

Jefferson has a great point because if you use the media to talk trash and get under the skin of an opponent and then refuse to talk when things don’t go your way, that’s not a great look.
As for the Lakers, James and company continue to fire on all cylinders in this series and will advance to the next round if they come out on top in Game 5 in hostile territory in Memphis.
Although the Grizzlies are struggling and are dealing with constant criticism due to how they’ve handled things as of late, Memphis will likely be a formidable opponent on Wednesday as they try to prevent the embarrassment of losing to a seven seed, especially on their home floor.
