The New York Giants surprised many around the NFL in 2022, making the playoffs, and even winning a playoff game in the process.

As they turn their attention to 2023, the Giants have added several pieces to their roster, in hopes of building on prior success.

One of their recent additions was Darren Waller, who came from the Las Vegas Raiders.

On a recent segment of Up & Adams, Rob Gronkowski fledged his support for Waller, saying “I believe he’s going to come back and he’s going to be a Pro Bowl-caliber player.”

Waller was one of the NFL’s best tight ends in 2019 and 2020, racking up over 1,110 yards in both seasons.

However, due to injuries in the past few years, Waller’s production has slowly faded.

Last year, Waller appeared in just eight games for the Raiders, totaling 28 receptions, which resulted in 388 yards and three touchdowns.

How will he be able to perform in his first season with Daniel Jones and the Giants?

If Gronkowski’s most recent comments are any indication, he believes that Waller can re-activate his prior successes.

The Giants have recently parted ways with Evan Engram, and they did have a need at tight end before Waller came in.

Daniel Bellinger showed flashes in his first season with the team but hasn’t broken out yet.

With Waller on the roster, hopefully, both players can be used efficiently, carving out a significant role for both of them.

Jones is slated to take another step forward in production, something Waller can certainly assist with.
