The Oklahoma City Thunder had something special.
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant looked like a match made in NBA heaven.
There was no ego, and they often trusted each other with the game on the line to try and get the job done.
But things went south when Durant left to join the Golden State Warriors.
Westbrook doubled down on his commitment to the team, sending the message that he wanted to stay there for the long run.
Durant, on the other hand, used a burner account to throw shade at his former teammates, which obviously didn’t sit well with Russ.
The years have gone by and, while KD has undeniably found more success than Russ since leaving OKC, their stories and names will forever be tangled up.
So, now that they’ll square off as the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns meet for the first round of the playoffs, Skip Bayless thinks there’s some unspoken beef between the two.
“I think there’s deep unspoken beef on Russ’ part towards Kevin Durant.”

The first games between them sure made it seem that way.
They barely acknowledged each other, and it was clear that they were personally trying to get the best out of each other.
Westbrook is a fierce competitor and the kind of guy who takes notes and receipts, so he most definitely hasn’t forgotten Durant’s tweets.
Whatever the case, this playoff series could be one for the ages, even if the Suns should be heavily favored to take care of business.
Beef or not, you better believe these guys will leave it all on the court.
