The Cleveland Cavaliers lost Game 3 of their series against the New York Knicks in a terrible fashion.

After dominating their rivals in the second game of the series, they couldn’t replicate that success.

The 99-79 defeat meant that the Cavaliers are the first team to score less than 80 points in the 2022-23 NBA season.

It didn’t even happen in the regular season, which makes this worse.

Before this game, the Portland Trail Blazers had scored exactly 80 points against the Sacramento Kings in March.

Other notable (or infamous) games include the Detroit Pistons’ 81 points at the start of April.

The Cavs scored 81 in December, and four other teams scored 82 points in a game this campaign.

The Cavs are hoping to win Game 4 of this series and return home 2-2.

Things didn’t go well for them on Friday night.

Mitchell Robinson played part in this, protecting the rim and making it hard on the Cavs.

The Cavs need to make adjustments to score more than 79 points in the next game.

After winning Game 1 of this series, the Knicks stole home-court advantage, and Cleveland needs to win two in New York to get back in control.
