The Baltimore Ravens had a very eventful draft week.
It all started before the draft when Lamar Jackson signed his massive long-term extension.
But as we move on from draft weekend some teams need to decide on fifth-year options for their players.
One Ravens player who was up for a fifth-year option is linebacker Patrick Queen.
Baltimore drafted Queen in the first round of the 2020 draft, and he has not lived up to expectations.
The Ravens do not see Queen as a long-term answer on defense.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Ravens have declined the fifth-year option on Queen.

Making this move means Queen will be entering his last year as a Raven.
If they had any interest in re-signing him, they would have picked up the option.
Last season Queen was productive for the Ravens
He played all 17 games and recorded 117 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 5.0 sacks.
One reason the Ravens feel comfortable not picking up Queen’s option is because of who they drafted.
In the third round, the Ravens selected Clemson linebacker Trenton Simpson.
After this season, it would make sense that Simpson takes over a starting role.
Finding starters on rookie contracts is always a good way to build a championship-level roster.
The Ravens are known for building through the draft, and that is no different this year.
