It’s no secret that the Tampa Bay Rays have been the best team in all of baseball to start the 2023 season.
After winning each of their first 13 games, the Rays still own the best record in all of baseball at 34-13, 3.5 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles for the top spot in the American League East.
Much of their success is thanks in large part to the power being displayed by their lineup, which features stars such as Yandy Diaz, Randy Arozarena, Brandon Lowe, Isaac Paredes, Harold Ramirez, and Wander Franco.
The Rays’ bats are scorching right now.
And on Saturday, they reached 90 home runs, which tied them with the 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers in an elite category.
Rays now have 90 HR this season with 3 today. That ties the 2020 Dodgers for 3rd most HR through a team’s first 47 games of a season in MLB history.

The Rays tied the 2020 Dodgers for the third-most home runs hit through a team’s first 47 games in Major League history.
Only the 2000 St. Louis Cardinals and 1999 Seattle Mariners hit more homers through their first 47 games.
Each team hit a total of 97 home runs over that period of time.
But it’s easy to see how the Rays are just so dominant this season.
The power their lineup is showing has carried them through their first 47 games of the season and have them on pace to make some noise this coming summer.
Last season, the Rays won 86 games and snuck into the postseason as the third American League Wild Card before being swept by the Cleveland Guardians in the first round.
This year, the Rays look poised to do some more damage and become even better.
