The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t all that satisfied with their current slot in the upcoming NFL Draft.

They’re set to pick at No. 17, and ESPN’s Todd McShay recently reported that they’re looking to trade up, according to Daniel Valente of The Score.

Per McShay, the Steelers have been in talks with both the Chicago Bears (9) and Tennessee Titans (11) to try and trade up to revamp their left tackle position.

The Steelers are making it a priority to keep Kenny Pickett safe, and they believe there are multiple players at that position that could be available in the first ten slots.

This wouldn’t be an unprecedented move by any means, as they recently did the very same to land LB Devin Bush.

Notably, HC Mike Tomlin took Paris Johnson to dinner at Ohio State’s Pro Day, while Darnell Wright and Broderick Jones both visited the team’s facilities as a part of their Top-30 visits.

Also, they had O-Line coach Pat Meyers in attendance at Peter Skronoski’s Pro Day, so they will have plenty of options to choose from if they manage to trade up.

The Steelers have made it a point of emphasis to strengthen their Offensive Line in the offseason, adding Nate Herbig and Isaac Seumalo.

Now, they want someone there for years to come, and this class is quite stacked with talent in that position.

Kenny Pickett looked much better as he got more reps and time last season, and giving him an elite blind-side protector might be just what he needs to break out in his first full season as a starter.
