The Minnesota Twins are enjoying a hot start to the 2023 season.

Last year, they led the AL Central for the bulk of the season, but ultimately fell out of contention late and finished 78-84.

This year, things look to be trending in the right direction.

They sit at the top of the AL Central with a 10-6 record.

Their success is thanks in large part to their pitching staff.

Minnesota had to give up Luis Arraez to get Pablo Lopez, but the rotation and bullpen are both firing on all cylinders.

In fact, they have the best ERA in all of baseball at 2.60.

On Twitter, Jon Morosi of MLB Network pointed out just how successful the Twins have been.

Minnesota has an elite starting rotation that features Lopez, Sonny Gray, Joe Ryan, and Tyler Mahle.

The bullpen features stars such as Jorge Lopez and Emilio Pagan.

But early on the season, the entire pitching staff is carrying its weight and helping lead the Twins to some much-needed success after their late-season collapse last year.

It was the Cleveland Guardians who ultimately claimed the AL Central title, finishing 14 games ahead of the Twins.

But Minnesota is playing good baseball and are currently tied with the Texas Rangers for the second-best record in the American League.

Lopez in particular has been dominant.

The young right-hander is 1-1 with a 1.73 ERA in his first four starts this year.

The Twins have also recently extended Lopez for the next four years.

The pitching is carrying the Twins and could be the X-factor as they seek to return to the postseason for the first time since 2020.
