The Denver Nuggets are playing like a team on a mission right now.
The team has been a united front on both ends of the floor, and it seems like they’re ready to run through a wall for each other.
Notably, a lot of that has had to do with Mike Malone and the culture he’s instilled within the locker room.
That was evident again following their Game 2 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, with Malone praising them for defending their home-court advantage and handing out individual distinctions, such as a Defensive Player of the Game chain for Nikola Jokic.

The Nuggets have been the most consistent team in the Western Conference during the regular season, and they’ve been even better in the playoffs.
Malone has been outstanding when making adjustments, often ending up on top in the chess match vs. his rival coaches.
Nonetheless, a lot of that has also had to do with motivation and keeping the band together through adversity.
The Nuggets have dealt with disrespect and a lack of media attention for years now.
They’ve had tough breaks, bad luck, and multiple injuries in the postseason, earning the reputation of being just a good regular-season team.
It’s evident that they’ve kept receipt of that narrative and want to prove the doubters wrong once and for all.
They’re now just two games away from making it to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history, and a lot of that has to do with Malone’s presence.
