The Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently hold the 19th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
And while some believe Will Levis might not be available once they’re on the clock, others believe he might even be available in the second round.
So, it’s only natural that a QB-needy team like the Bucs will at least meet with the Kentucky product.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Levis is slated to visit the Bucs and the Atlanta Falcons, who have the eighth overall pick.
More visits:
— #Kentucky QB Will Levis is visiting the #Bucs today and he has the #Falcons tomorrow.
— Penn St CB Joey Porter Jr. will visit the #Panthers tomorrow.
— Mississippi State CB Emmanuel Forbes just finished up a #Patriots visit and flies to the #Bengals tomorrow.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 12, 2023
Both teams could definitely use an upgrade at the QB position.
The Bucs are set for 2023 with Baker Mayfield, but barring a miracle, he’s never going to live up to the expectations as a former No. 1 overall pick.
As for the Falcons, they have Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke competing for the QB1 spot, and neither choice seems very appealing.
Levis has drawn comparisons to Josh Allen, and the resemblance is evident, at least from a physical standpoint.
They’re both tall, strong, big-framed QBs with a cannon for an arm, and Allen was also more on the raw side when he first entered the league.
Levis looks like the kind of prospect who might need to spend a year or two on the sidelines before being ready for some NFL action, but the upside is most definitely there.
So, will the Bucs make the most of that 19th pick if he’s available?
Or will the Falcons reach to get their QB of the future?
